Glass Eye Studio was established in Seattle, Washington in 1978, when the Northwest glass scene was just starting to take off. Today, Seattle is an art glass mecca, and our studio is a leading producer of innovative glass designs.  They incorporate a variety of materials in the production of our designs including dichroic glass, fine gold and the Glass Eye signature ingredients: ash from the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helen.
This Famous non-planet has been re-examined by the Glass Eye Studio artists to honor the 2015 fly by of the NASA's New Horizon Spacecraft. Discovered in 1930, Pluto was the ninth planet in the solar system until 2006 when the International Astronomical Union redefined it as a "dwarf planet" Some astronomers still hold that Pluto and its five moons should be an official planet.
