Tom Farbanish graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1985, and  his involvement in glass has been diverse and active.  In addition to designing and producing a sophisticated line of glass.  Tom has exhibited his sculptures internationally.  He  has fabricated work for leading contemporary artists and architects.  The fabrication of glass has been important part of Farbanish 's work schedule.  This challenge of creative problem solving increases  his vocabulary and knowledge of glass.

The process of making objects involves many different aspects of problem solving.  One of the greatest challenges in producing artwork is not the formulation, but the realization of ideas.  Time, money, assistance, family obligations, etc. are some of the the hurdles that must be addressed. When in the studio he is alone, by himself, with his thoughts.  Tom's intentions are to make the over abundance of ideas, into art that someone would say is beautiful, unconventionally beautiful perhaps, but beautiful.

Tom is excited to be associated with materials with such a full diverse and culturally rich history.  Glass blowing is such a challenging process, fabricating metal is formally liberating, and painting exposes the soul, in combining these processes.

His devotion to glass education is evident with his teaching at The Pilchuck glass school, Haystack, Penland, Urban Glass, R.I.S.D, and Tyler school of Art, and several more.
