As the Nourot Glass Studio moves into the fourth decade, the quest to maintain the quality that they are known for with the hand blown glass. The Nourot Studio is one of the few studios that melts their own glass from scratch. They combine silica, lime and soda ash to make the glass and metal oxides for the color. Michael Nourot is known for his bold, luminescent red glass. Each piece is hand blown, unique, signed and registered by he same method since the studio began: studio name, series letters, piece number, year and the artist's initials.
