Based on a process developed by Michael Cohn in the early 1970's at his original Berkley, Ca. studio, the Tortoise Shell pattern has evolved over many years to its present form. It is based on classic forms yet combined with bold color. The result is a contemporary work of functional art with a timeless beauty. The process is complex with special furnaces melting four different glasses required and daily compatibility tests.
The interior of this vase is Opaline glass then covered by a layer of milk glass which is finally completed with special chemicals.
