Glass Eye Studio was established in Seattle, Washington in 1978, when the Northwest glass scene was just starting to take off. Today, Seattle is an art glass mecca, and this studio is a leading producer of innovative glass designs. They incorporate a variety of materials in the production of their designs including dichroic glass, fine gold and the Glass Eye signature ingredients: ash from the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helen.
Copper Blossoms growing from a desire to celebrate nature and reuse its resources the artists have combined recycled copper with sparkling dichroic and rich green glass then added just enough heat to reveal the beauty of the of the coppers purple and crimson hues. The addition of dancing bubbles above the blossom make it appear to come alive right before your eyes.
