The lampwork featured on this page is by Loy Allen, an artist in the Black Hills of South Dakota. There is bounty of inspiration in this region. Her surroundings provide the beauty and no stress from the bustle of the people. There is a bounty of beautiful flowers, leaves
and insects for inspiration. Loy Allen is known for the torchwork botanicals with a definite tropical feel. The majority of her work is in steel and glass botanicals, which she has designed to be shippable. Most of the pieces are designed to come apart, and glass and steel are separate pieces. There are prongs that go down into the metal tubing. Each piece comes with instructions of how to assemble the sculpture.
