Nourot Glass Studio "Scarlet Nova" Small Flute
Nourot Glass Studio enters into the fourth decade making handmade blown glass. The Nourot Studio was established in 1973 in San Francisco, and soon after Michael moved to Benicia, California with his new partner and wife Ann Corcoran. His collections include series work, and one-of-a-kind art. Nourot Studio is one of the few studios that melts their own glass from scratch. They combine silica, lime and soda ash to make the glass and metal oxides for the color. Michael Nourot is known for his bold, luminescent red glass.
The "Scarlet Nova" small flute glows with the gold luster interior. The Nourot Studio has achieved this special color by the addition of silver. They are all signed and registered by the same method since the studio began: studio name, series letters, piece number, year and the artist's initials.
