Edward Kachurik Art Glass Flame Series Sculpture
Edward Kachurik began working in glass in 1978. He uses a technique of coloring the hot glass surface called veiling, this is a metallic coating that is applied to the hot-glass surface. After the pieces have cooled, they are hand ground and go through six different steps of polishing. This technique is unique to Kachurik's work.
The Flame Series Sculpture is faceted on both the front and back and has multi-dimensional flames on the sides. The piece is substantial in size and was created with multiple layers.
